Sylvester Zielinski

Sylvester "Junior" Zielinski Jr., 72, of Tamaroa, passed away at 8:22 P.M., Monday, April 12, 2004 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Junior had worked on the loading dock for thirty years at GS Metals.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa and Tamaroa American Legion.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was born December 15, 1931 at Tamaroa, IL, the son of Sylvester and Martha A. (Bathon) Zielinski.
He is survived by one sister - Rose Malanowski and husband Daniel of Tamaroa, one brother - Joseph Zielinski and wife RoJean of Winfield, MO, nieces and nephews - Mark Malanowski, David Malanowski, Lynn Hauser, Tracy Hinman, Mary Jo Prost and Kevin Zielinski and eleven great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother - Norman and one sister - Mary.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 15, 2004 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa with Msgr. Melvin Vandeloo officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Rosary was prayed at 7:45 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Tamaroa.
Military graveside rites were conducted.
